Chanel is a high fashion house that specializes in haute couture and ready-to-wear clothes, luxury goods and fashion accessories.

When established Principal Contractor N J Richards initially contacted Sanders Consulting to ask whether the practice could provide them with Health and Safety Consultancy Services on a project in the centre of London that they had recently won; its significance was not immediately apparent. It transpired the project was the new Chanel flagship boutique.

The new store - the largest Chanel shop in the world - is situated at 158-159 New Bond Street, London, and spans an impressive 12,600 square-feet. The three-storey space - which was 15 months in the making and cost in excess of £15 million – was the brainchild of New York-based architect Peter Marino, who has worked on Chanel boutiques worldwide.
